Less Clicking. More Cutting. Practical AI Workflows with Vlad

After a client chose phone photos and AI instead of hiring his team for a menu shoot, Vlad decided to look closer. He’ll break down three levels of AI-assisted creative work, demonstrate a workflow at each, and show us what is really happening under the hood. Then we roll into CCC Guangzhou’s first movie night with Army of Darkness.

Less Clicking. More Cutting.

CCC Guangzhou · Friday, October 23, 2026 · From 6 PM

A client. A menu shoot. And a job that disappeared into a phone and an AI tool.

For a recent menu project, the client chose to photograph the food themselves and use AI instead of hiring Vlad’s team. When Vlad saw the results, he was surprised by how close they came to the kind of finished work a professional crew would normally produce.

That is where this session starts. Not with an AI victory lap, and not with another lecture about jobs disappearing. With a working creative watching the industry change in real time and deciding to understand the tools rather than look away.

On Friday, October 23, Vlad will open up the workflows he has been testing across photography, video and post-production. He’ll show three different ways AI can enter the process, demonstrate a practical example at each level, and explain where the software stops and the creator still has to make the call.

No magic button. No five-year predictions. Just a clear look at what these tools can do now, how they do it, and how creatives can put them to work without handing over the whole process.

What Vlad Will Share

  • The menu project that forced him to take AI seriously
  • Three levels of bringing AI into a creative workflow
  • A practical workflow demonstrated at each level
  • Beginner-friendly ways to create alongside AI without giving up control
  • His early attempt to build a transcript-led editing workflow for DaVinci Resolve
  • What tools such as ChatCut are doing beneath the interface
  • Where AI saves time, and where human taste and judgement still shape the cut

Vlad will spend more time on the middle ground: workflows where the creator and the tool work together. It is the most accessible place to start, and the place where you can still see your own decisions in the finished piece.

After the walkthrough, we’ll open the floor for questions, discussion and workflow swaps with the room.

Three Ways Into the Workflow

1. Done for You

You supply a prompt, reference material or source files. The tool returns something close to a finished result.

This is the fastest version of AI-assisted creation, but it also gives the creator the least direct control. Vlad will show where that can be useful, and where speed can come at the cost of intention.

2. Made With You

The creator stays inside the process. You work through an interface, make selections, revise the result and steer the work as it develops.

This is where Vlad plans to spend the most time. It is approachable for people who are new to AI, but still leaves room for judgement, taste and hands-on decisions.

3. Built Into the Professional Toolkit

AI does not have to replace the editing suite. It can sit inside it.

Professional tools such as DaVinci Resolve increasingly include focused AI features built for specific jobs. Instead of asking one system to make the whole piece, the editor uses smaller tools to handle defined tasks and keeps control of the larger cut.

What’s Under the Button?

Before Vlad knew about ChatCut, he tried to build his own version of a transcript-led editing workflow.

The idea was simple: give AI a transcript, use it to help shape the edit, then bring those decisions back into DaVinci Resolve. The attempt gave him a useful look at the machinery behind tools that can otherwise feel like a single mysterious button.

He’ll share what he built and explain the basic process in plain language: how video becomes text, how that text can help organise an edit, and why the final decisions still belong to the person cutting the piece.

About Vlad

Vlad is a self-taught creative professional with five years of experience making content across e-commerce, food and beverage, corporate and personal branding.

He started in photography and has spent the years since exploring the full toolkit of digital marketing: film, design and, most recently, AI. His interest is practical. Which parts of the process can the tools handle, and which parts still need the taste, judgement and hands of the person making the work?

One Night. Two Features.

Vlad’s Spotlight takes the first half of the evening. At 8:30 PM, the lights go down for CCC Guangzhou’s first movie night in partnership with The A Frame.

We’re starting with Army of Darkness, a wildly inventive horror-comedy built for watching with a room full of filmmakers. The projector has been tuned, the sound is sorted and the popcorn is covered.
